How Do I Start Brushing My Daughter’s Teeth?

I don’t understand how to brush a small child’s teeth. How do I keep her from swallowing the tooth paste?

Try Spiffies (spiffies.com), They are a litle, slightly abrasive towelette that you scrub children’s teeth with. As your child gets older, she’ll want to brush more herself, but follow up with a Spiffie. It contains xylitol, which is a natural sweetner that kills the bacteria that cause decay.

First of all that depend on her age, But you can start brush her teeth without using any tooth paste Only brush and water ( 90% of tooth brushing is mechanical ), during this Time try to learn her don’t swallowing that water ( and no problem if she did) after time she will learn that , at that time u can start use tooth paste.

Crazy as this answer seems: depending on the age, just cover all the surfaces the best that you can. And, if she is young and doesn’t grasp the concept of spitting out the toothpaste, use toddler training toothpaste without fluoride. Another idea is to try an electric toothbrush.

Depending on how old she is she will probably swallow it no matter what, luckily most childrens toothpaste is safe to swallow.
