Is It Possible To Get All 4 Wisdom Teeth Out In 15 Minutes Surgically Under Sedation?
My friend said she is getting her wisdom teeth out and the doctor said the surgery will take 15 minutes for all four wisdom teeth because the procedure is very common or something. The doctor seems like an experienced doctor but is that possible? Would it be possible he cuts a nerve near the wisdom teeth if he is in a hurry?

I recently had all 4 out and the procedure took about 40 minutes, no counting sedation. However, my wisdom teeth were impacted, and two had very deep roots. If your friends teeth are under developed, there is perhaps a chance this is possible, though it does seem a bit quick.
You should have your friend ask the doctor directly, say it seems a bit quick for all 4 teeth (and stitching up the wound).
If you dont trust the doctor, get a different one. There are plenty of oral surgeons who would like your business and may take their time. However, just because they take longer doesnt mean they are doing a better job.

If the wisdom teeth are not impacted at all or if they are not Severely impacted I ma sure he can remove them 15 to 20 minutes. Mine were impacted (2 partial bony impaction and two fully bony impactions) and the dr cut them out in 20 minutes. it all depends on the skill of the dentist too. The nerve can be accidently cut regardless if the root is veryy close to the nerve. there is almost no way of avoiding it. and th enumbness that yo uwmay experience even after all local anesthetics and stuff worn off. that is temporary.

15 minutes of oral surgery is actually quite a lot of time. if the teeth are erupted and not impacted then it is very possible for a skilled surgeon to extract them quickly…especially if the patient is under GA or sedated. I think you should trust what he is saying. Ask of any possible complications regarding your particular case. remember there is no 2 cases the same. some extractions take a very long time. and others can be done in literally 1 minute. your doctor can also only estimate times (which is why sometimes they run late) as what might look easy can also turn out to be a b##ger!
good luck. hope it goes as smooth as he anticipates.

I was loaded with Valium and NO and my four impacted teeth took an hour and 40 minutes. It was not cool. If I’d of known then I’d say forget it!
It is possible to bruise or seer a nerve, but they grow back in a year or so. My mom broke her face and it took a year for the nerves to grow back.
If he’s experienced there’s nothing to worry about… except getting teeth cut out of your head

yes, it is possible to extract the four wisdom teeth in 15 minutes. But i do not think the dentist of your friend will do it. He may have exaggerated the fact.

Yes it is very possible that it only took 15 mins. If they are all erupted then it is a very easy procedure.

he is a doctor and he will not do anything stupid so don’t worry. the whole procedure feels like a few seconds. your friend will feel like she blinked and its over
